The Xiaomi K series is making a comeback with the Redmi K50i. The Xiaomi K20 and K20 Pro were the brand’s first smartphones with a pop-up camera when they were introduced in 2019. The phones, known as “Alpha Flagship,” had several noteworthy features. The Redmi K50i aims to continue that tradition. Here are our first impressions of the new Redmi K50i after using the phone for a while.
Redmi K50i has a polycarbonate plastic back and is a generally attractive phone.
The Redmi K50i has a unique-looking back panel despite being an all-plastic phone. Here, the panel has a textured finish that gives it a rugged appearance. The phone’s back does not draw fingerprints. The compact camera module contains a dual-tone LED flash and a triple camera setup.

Redmi K50i includes a free fast charger and sports a 3.5mm audio jack, and an IR blaster
Inside the box, the Xiaomi Redmi K50i has a 67W fast charger. The phone also has an IR blaster and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Redmi K50i has an LCD screen; while it has a smooth display, the viewing angles could be better.
A 6.67-inch FHD+ FFS LCD is on the Redmi K50i. In its price range, it is the only smartphone that offers a 144Hz refresh rate. According to the content the user is viewing, the display’s adaptive refresh technology automatically adjusts the refresh rate (between 30Hz and 144Hz) on the screen. When tilting the phone sideways, we noticed a slight change in color and brightness due to the LCD IPS panel reflection.

Redmi K50i provides reliable performance.
The Mediatek Dimensity 8100 chipset, which powers the Redmi K50i, is a solid one and provides generally slick performance. A few games that we played also had good frame rates.
The 16MP front camera sensor on the Redmi K50i does a respectable job.
The 16MP front camera on the Redmi K50 has an f/2.45 aperture. Additionally, the front camera has a few shooting options, such as Night Mode, Portrait, Time Lapse, etc. In all lighting conditions, the rear camera does a good job of capturing images.
The ultra-wide sensor and main rear camera of the Redmi K50i are both quite good.
Featuring a triple rear camera setup with 64MP + 8MP + 2MP sensors, the Redmi K50i. The images’ details and colors are superbly captured by the primary sensor. Furthermore, it seems that the dynamic range is good. The shutter speed of the camera is yet another noteworthy feature. The Redmi K50i has “zero” noticeable shutter lag in all shooting modes. The ultra-wide sensor is calibrated to produce images that are vivid, clear, and sharp. No color shift or distortion was apparent when compared to the primary sensor.

Users may enjoy the camera app despite it having a tonne of shooting modes.
The Redmi K50i from Xiaomi has several shooting modes available. The smartphone includes options such as Long exposure, Time bursts, Clone, and more in addition to the standard Auto, Portrait, and Night modes.
High battery life and quick charging
A 5080mAh battery powers the Xiaomi Redmi K50i, which also supports 67W fast charging. The 67W charger is contained in the box by the company. In our test, the phone provided a full day’s worth of battery life even when used heavily for things like gaming, calls, browsing, and more. The device’s 67W fast charging capability is a plus; it charged our phone in about 45 minutes.
