To create a three dimensional item one needs to use a special 3D printer. Besides that, you will also need to use a specific material. This material will obviously be used to create the product. You will have lots of choices because there are quite a lot of materials that can be used by a 3D printing service. In this article three of these possible materials will be introduced, but the list goes on and on. By the way, the three materials below could also be used by CNC machining services.

Nylon

Nylon is a material that can be used to print a three dimensional model. It is a type of plastic, just like many other materials that are used for 3D printing. A lot of different items can be created by using nylon. It is seen as flexible and it can have different colors, although it could also be transparent. This is obviously useful if the printed item needs to be transparent as well. You can probably already tell that there are many possibilities when you will 3D print with nylon. It is even possible to create nylon clothing with a 3D printer.

Aluminium

Besides that, it is also possible to create a 3D object of aluminium. If you want to do this, you will need to use a special method. This is relatively new and enables aluminium to be an option for 3D printing. Obviously you can also decide to use a different type of metal to create a three dimensional product, although the metal options are somewhat limited. This process will be done by using a technologie called DMD. This is an abbreviation and means Direct Metal Depositioning. In essence, this means that the metal powder will be added in the laser to melt it.

ABS

Furthermore, you can use ABS to print a three dimensional object. ABS means Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene and is seen as both light and hard. This material can be an excellent choice if the product needs to be adapted after it has been printed. ABS is created by using petroleum, which is, of course, not very good for the environment. On the other hand, it is perfect for 3D printing. This is partially because ABS can be used to create a range of different items, the object’s size does not necessarily matter in this case.
