About three years ago, Jio promised us a demo of FIFA 19 cloud gaming at the AGM 2019 event. Fast forward to 2022, and the company is finally achieving its goals. The cloud gaming platform from Jio is now available in beta. JioGamesCloud is a web-based cloud gaming platform that enables you to play desktop games on any device (such as an Android phone, iPhone, or web browser) without the need for expensive “hardware.”
What’s JioGamesCloud Sports Streaming?
JioGamesCloud is a cloud gaming platform that Reliance Jio introduced in India, as the name suggests. Similar to Nvidia GeForce Now, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Amazon Luna, and the now-discontinued Google Stadia, it is a web-based cloud gaming platform. You can play desktop-level games on your phone, computer, tablet, TV, or Jio’s STB box without downloading them to your device. This includes both AAA games and casual games. You will simply stream the video games to your device from Jio’s cloud servers. You don’t need a high-end PC or console to enjoy graphics-intensive video games.
The platform is currently in Beta, and only users with access to the “Early Entry Program” are permitted to play games there. It looks like JioGamesCloud has teamed with Nvidia and is using GeForceNow‘s expertise when it comes to the back-end infrastructure. You get the idea. Some Reddit users spotted the GeForce Now integration on Jio’s Set-High Field (STB).
In addition, JioGamesCloud does not imply that you can access your EA or Steam library. Only games that are already available on the platform may be played. Sure, that’s a bummer, but keep in mind that the service is still in beta and would add new features before the secure launch. We don’t yet have any information about the server regions. However, we tested JioGamesCloud in Kolkata and New Delhi, and it performed admirably (extra on the efficiency beneath).
Requirements for Playing Games on JioGamesCloud
Before playing video games on the JioGamesCloud platform, clients should keep a few things in mind regarding the prerequisites. They are as follows:
- Secure Web Connection
Cloud gaming necessitates a secure web connection, as should be clear. And according to Jio’s FAQ page, JioGamesCloud will work well in your browser or smartphone if your bandwidth is at least 20 Mbps. In addition, you need the proper hardware to access the platform and play video games on JioGamesCloud.
- Suitable OS/ Gadgets
You can currently access Jio’s cloud gaming platform on Android smartphones using the JioGames app. You can use the web application on desktops running Windows, macOS, and Linux. For the time being, iPhone users can stream video games from JioGamesCloud utilizing the web app on Safari.
Additionally, I gave JioGamesCloud a try on a Chromebook, and it ran smoothly. Therefore, JioGamesCloud can be used with any modern browser for Windows or Mac (perhaps Chromium-based). If you have Jio’s Set-High Field, you can stream cloud video games using the JioGames app for TV assistance. Android TVs do not, however, currently support Jio’s cloud gaming service.
- Controller Assist
To play video games on JioGamesCloud, Jio says you may connect any Bluetooth-enabled or wired gaming controller to your computer. In general, JioGamesCloud will support your Xbox or PlayStation controllers with great quality. According to your information, Jio also offers a separate gaming controller for Rs 3,499
