The Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Google Pixel 6a launch by Google were significant for the business. Not just because they represented a significant upgrade in terms of software and hardware design, but also because they are currently some of the best-selling Pixel phones.
Both of these phones, which debuted in October 2021, are flagships with nearly flagship prices. The more cost-effective “a” model should now be used, though. Introducing the Pixel 6a, which was unveiled at Google I/O in May 2022 and is now on sale.

Design
The Pixel 6a is unmistakably a member of the Pixel 6 family in terms of design. The Pixel 6a is significantly shorter than the Pixel 6, measuring 152.2 x 71.8 x 8.9mm. Which measures 158.6 x 74.8 x 8.9mm, and it has the same recognizable camera band across the back.
It features Gorilla Glass 3 on the front and what is known as a “3D thermoformed composite” (plastic to you and me) on the back.
The phone is water- and dust-resistant and has an IP67 rating. Which is comparable to that of the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro in terms of durability (which are both IP68 water and dust resistant).

Pixel 6a colors
Three lovely dual-tone colors, as shown above, will be available for the Google Pixel 6a: black/grey, white/cream, and green.

Display
The Pixel 6a is smaller than the 6.4-inch Pixel 6 and the 6.7-inch Pixel 6 Pro thanks to its 6.1-inch OLED display.
It offers 60Hz refresh rates, which are considerably slower than some of the fastest 90Hz and 120Hz panels we’ve recently seen on smartphones. There are now phones in this price range with those faster refresh rates, so that’s a minor drawback.
The Pixel 6a display features a panel with a 20:9 aspect ratio, HDR support, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and 24-bit/16 million color support.
Additionally, you will receive the same Pixel always-on display feature with At A Glance calendar. And weather information as well as the Now Playing feature. Which notifies you of the song that is currently playing nearby.

Cameras
Similar to the Google Pixel 5 and, consequently. The Google Pixel 5a 5G, and the Google Pixel 6a will have a camera setup. The camera on the Pixel 5 is excellent, but it takes a slightly different approach than cameras on earlier “a” series phones. In the past, the “a” series focused on providing a mid-range device with the flagship Pixel camera experience.
The Pixel 6a has an 8-megapixel front camera, a 12.2-megapixel rear camera, and a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera. But specifications are one thing, and features are another.
The system has some pretty cool, almost magical, features, just like the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. This entitles you to features like Face Unblur, which effectively means that blurry selfies are a thing of the past, Real Tone.
Which ensures that all skin tones are accurately displayed. And Magic Eraser, which removes unwanted background objects. From a video perspective, you get stabilized 4K time-lapse recording.

Hardware and specs
The Google Pixel 6a will be powered by the company’s Tensor chip, just like the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. This means that despite being a much more affordable device. It should provide a very similar experience in terms of power and speed.
It has access to many of Google’s smart features thanks to the Tensor SoC, including live translation, automatic security checks, end-to-end encryption with RCS messages, and anti-phishing capabilities. When Android 13 is released later in the year. It will be among the first to get it even though it will initially run Android 12 out of the box.
The battery has a 4306mAh capacity and 30W fast charging is supported. According to Google, a fully charged battery can last for longer than 24 hours. Stereo speakers, 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and 6GB of LPDDR5 RAM round out the hardware specifications.
