2021 seems certain to be a classic year for gamers in Asia, as the arrival of new games gives them even more variety to choose from. Among the most interesting news at the start of 2021 was a press release from Gamasutra that confirmed that the Eternal Return: Black Survival title was available on Hong Kong servers from January 13.

What Is Eternal Return: Black Survival?

This is a battle royale-type game where players enter the forbidding Lumia Island and need to concoct a good survival strategy to stay alive. There are 18 different characters to choose from, with each having an attractive anime look.

As the game progresses, players need to make new weapons and gear to boost their chances of progressing. They can approach it as a straight-forward killing spree game where they hunt down the other 17 players, or else they can choose to build up their resources while waiting for the ideal moment to strike.

Items that can be found here include food, traps, materials for crafting weapons and a lot more. Deserted cites are great for looting, with locations such as a cemetery, archery range and temple to explore, while wild animals can be hunted for resources too.

The fact that it is possible to hide out in a strategic location or go on the attack means that it offers the chance to try out some very different approaches. You can also join a team of players to work together or else go it alone on Lumia Island. Play with others around the planet or set up a challenge with friends.

Among the advanced features is the Hyperloop function that allows you to teletransport around quickly and take other players by surprise. The Tree of Life can be used to craft legendary items, while weapons such as swords and guns can be found along the way. It seems like this title is a solid choice for new gamers looking to get started, and for experienced players alike.

Other New Games in 2021

It’s not just this PC game expected to tantalise gamers with new releases this year: online casinos have much to offer in the way of new titles, too. Asiabet reveals some new games available in the growing online casino market, for example. If we look at Comeon Casino, listed on the site, new slots such as Bull in a China Shop from Play N’Go are now available in 2021. They also confirm that new players get a welcome bonus, with 100% extra available at 22bet and Bet365, among others, showing that a staple of this area of gaming – the promotion – will remain a key feature.

As for consoles, look to the Nintendo Switch for The Monster Hunt franchise from Capcom. It has proved to be popular in Asia, with Monster Hunt World and Monster Hunt Generations already released. March 26 will see Monster Hunt Rise giving us another chance to trap beasts using a variety of weapons and tools.

Until then, there is a demo available that has a couple of tutorial missions as well as two full hunting missions, which can be played in single-player or multiplayer mode. The full missions are called Great Izuchi and Mizutsune, with a limit set that restricts you to playing them just 30 times.

Pokémon Snap is another new title for the Switch in 2021 that should keep plenty of players entertained. It is based on the classic 1994 Nintendo 64 game of the same name, which is widely regarded as one of the best Pokémon games of all time. New expressions and behaviours are to be included, with more than 200 different Pokémon to be found. Not too much is known about the new version to date, although The Pokémon Company revealed that we will able to find the creatures in “their natural habitats” such as jungles and beaches. Look out for this game to come out at the end of April.

Another eagerly-awaited new title is Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga from Warner Bros and Interactive Entertainment. This is first new game in the series since 2016 and it is expected to come out in the first half of 2021 in a variety of formats, although previously suggested release dates have slipped by without any sign of the game.

With new games like these to look forward to in 2021, it is clear that gamers in Asia are going to be spoiled for choice. Eternal Return: Black Survival looks set to be a success thanks to its pretty anime style and big world, but the other new games out this year should ensure that there is something for every taste.
