Oppo’s Reno 8 series smartphones were released in China earlier this week. The Reno 8, Reno 8 Pro, and Reno 8 Pro+ are the three devices in the series. The chipsets and specifications of the three phones are all different. Much of what you need to know can be found here.

Oppo Reno 8

The Oppo Reno 8 comes with a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. This phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chipset. It has a total memory capacity of 12GB and a storage capacity of 256GB. Face Unlock and a fingerprint scanner under the display are both supported by the phone.

At the back of the phone is a 50MP primary camera, as well as a 2MP black-and-white sensor and a 2MP macro sensor. A 4,500mAH battery powers the front camera, which has a 32MP resolution. It also has an 80W Super Flash Charging capability. ColorOS 11.2.1, based on Android 12, comes pre-installed on the Reno 8. It costs CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs 29,000) in China.

Oppo Reno 8 Pro

The Oppo Reno 8 Pro has a 6.62-inch FHD+-AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, which is Snapdragon’s newest chip in the 700-series segment, is included in this phone, along with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

This phone has three cameras: an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 50MP main camera, and an 8MP ultrawide camera. A 2MP macro and 2MP macro camera are also included in the Reno 8 Pro. A 32MP front camera is still available for selfies and video calls.

Additional features include an under-display fingerprint scanner. A 4,500mAh rechargeable battery with support for 80W Super Flash Charge, and Bluetooth 5.3. The Oppo Reno 8 Pro costs CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs 34,900) and comes preloaded with ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12.

Oppo Reno 8 Pro+

The Reno 8 Pro+ features a 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate as well as Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone’s power source is the MediaTek Dimensity 8100. This processor is also used in phones like the OnePlus 10R and the Realme GT Neo. The phone’s RAM can be as high as 12GB or as low as 256GB.

With a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro has the same camera setup. The device does, however, come with a Mariana MariSilicon X Chip for better camera performance. A 32MP front camera is still available.

A 4,500mAh rechargeable battery with support for 80W Super Charge and an in-display fingerprint scanner round out the list of features. So, The Oppo Reno 8 Pro+ is priced at CNY 3,699 (roughly Rs 43,000) and comes preloaded with ColorOS 112.1, an Android 12-based operating system.
