Asus has entered the foldable gadget market by introducing the first Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED in the world that can be folded in half. The development of smart devices with flexible displays is currently a top priority for numerous consumer tech companies. Including Samsung, Microsoft, and Xiaomi. However, only Samsung appears to have so far succeeded with its lineup of foldable smartphones. Including the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3.

Lenovo had previously released the ThinkPad X1 Flip. The 13.3-inch 2K monitor on the foldable laptop with all screens had a maximum brightness of 300 nits. The ThinkPad X1 Fold costs $2,499 and comes equipped with an Intel Core i5 CPU, 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 512GB of storage as standard. The gadget, however, feels more like a foldable tablet than a laptop because of its smaller display. Lenovo recently unveiled its new ThinkBook Plus notebook with dual screens.

With a 17.3-inch 2.5K color-accurate screen when unfolded. The Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED is an all-screen foldable notebook that features a 12.5-inch screen (3:2 aspect ratio) when folded. When fully extended, the gadget is a sizable touch-enabled OLED display. And 500 nit maximum brightness and 0.2 ms reaction time. The Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED has narrow bezels, an excellent display, and can be folded.

The computer can be operated in a variety of ways, including tablet mode, book mode, laptop mode (with an on-screen keypad), and computer mode, claims Asus. The ZenFold 17 Fold OLED will be sold to interested parties starting in the second quarter of 2022. At this year’s CES event, Asus also unveiled the Asus ROG Flow Z13 smartphone in addition to the foldable laptop.

Zenbook 17 Fold Offers Decent Performance

The Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED is powered by an Intel Core i7-1250U processor from the 12th iteration, 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. The foldable laptop has two Thunderbolt 4 ports for communication. Surprisingly, the Asus Zenbook 17 Fold still has a 3.5mm audio jack while other businesses are removing it from their most recent devices. Along with the gadget, Asus also includes the ErgoSense Bluetooth keyboard and touchpad. The Zenbook 17 Fold should deliver an outstanding multimedia experience. Because of the high-quality display and quad-speaker system that supports Dolby Atmos.

Asus claims that the hinge of the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED has undergone 30,000 tests to determine how durable the device is. If the laptop is closed and opened an average of ten times a day. The hinge should last more than a few years. The Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED is a luxury product. So even though the company hasn’t announced the price, that probably means it will have a premium price as well.
